Waiting

I contacted the Denton County Mental Health and Retardation services back around the 27th of July to see about getting an appointment for an intake and evaluation. It seems the earliest they can get me in is September 3rd. That's right, they're booked over a month in advance just for intake - it'll take even longer to see a psychiatrist in order to get medication. What kind of a statement does that make when the home state of the sitting president has mental health facilities that appear to be so underfunded and understaffed that it takes a month to get an appointment for the basic evaluation? I believe the word I'm looking for here is "disgraceful".

Today's minor irony: The medication I'm currently on is Topamax, which is FDA approved as an anti-convulsant. One of the side effects? Tremors. Go figure.
